Portrait Photos with the Nikon D3100

So my first DSLR system was a Nikon D3100 with an 18-55mm f3.5 – f5.6 kit lens.  I wanted to take portrait photos with the Nikon D3100, in particular portrait photos of my wife, as she was pregnant with our first son Felix.

I’m going through all my old photograph archives at the minute and can’t believe some of the portraits I managed to get out of the camera, shooting in compressed JPEG.

Here are a few examples of my early work, using entry level kit.  You can capture portrait photos with the Nikon D3100 that I’m sure you could pick up now for under £100.

Happy shooting!
